GOING BACK TO OUR ROOTS
Related to country: South Africa

I've been spotting my natural hair for a few months now but am always amazed at the stares and comments i stil get for my choice. Is it really such a bad thing to stay true to youself and embrace what mother nature gave you. I have realised that people are actually more comfortable when they see u spotting a weave or relaxed hair. For as long as i can remember hair has always been an issue in my community. Natural hair reminds most africans of who they are and no matter how many times you dye or perm it, it will always have sence to go to its natural state. I've realised that my hair is much more than just my crowning glory. It is a proud reflection of an african heritage and mind that simply refuses to be colonised into thinking that what is beautifull is pale and long straight glossy hair. I wish that more and more people could realise that loving yourself from within gives you the strength and belief that you are perfect as natural as you are. Just as mother nature intended.
